As the largest grand event of its kind in the industry, Internet+ Powered by CEBIT came to a successful close at Guangdong Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center on October 15, 2017. Themed with “New Interconnection, New Smart Manufacturing, New Future”, this year’s expo has attracted 656 exhibitors to showcase the latest high-end IT and industrial products and technologies. Launching seven display sectors such as Intelligent Manufacturing, Internet Plus Frontier Technologies, Smart City, Internet Plus Finance, E-commerce, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Smart Home & Life, the expo covers a total area of 45,000 sqm. The four-day expo has attracted 168,000 visitors, including 23,706 trade visitors.

Different from the previous editions, this year’s expo has introduced the core resources of CeBIT, the world’s top-ranking digital economy event for the first time, presenting significant features of internationalization, professionalism and market orientation. During the expo, Foshan Robotation Academy opened to the public, two intelligent production lines brought a wonderful competition and “Internet Plus” frontier technologies drew wide attention. A series of splendid forums and competitions was held concurrently, altogether building the most leading, professional and wonderful benchmark event in the “Internet Plus” area in Southern China and even Asia.

Strong Combination to Build an Industrial Model

Instructed by the government and operated by the market, this year’s expo aims to boost China’s intelligent manufacturing, continuously promote the transformation and upgrade of traditional industries and set an “Internet Plus” model in the Pearl River Delta and even the entire China with the cutting-edge “Internet Plus” technologies. Mr. Yuan Baocheng, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr. Xie Shaofeng, Director of Informatization and Software Service Industry Department of MIIT and Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board, Deutsche Messe AG attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The officials of relevant national ministries, departments of Guangdong Province, Municipal Party Secretary Lu Yi, Mayor Zhu Wei and other officials of Foshan City, as well as the former Prime Minister of German Democratic Republic Lothar de Maizière and other foreign guests also made their presence at the opening ceremony and paid their visits to the expo.

On the opening ceremony, the signing ceremony for 20 significant projects with a total investment of up to RMB 82.91 billion was held. The “Smart City and Big Data Industrial Cooperation Framework Agreement” between Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Foshan Nanhai District People’s Government, the “China OptimumNano New Energy Automotive Industry Innovation Alliance South China Region Big Data Operation Center” co-founded by Country Garden (China) Co., Ltd. and China OptimumNano New Energy Automotive Industry Innovation Alliance, as well as other projects related to smart city and intelligent manufacturing will be implemented soon in Foshan.

International Expo with Brand New Outlook

The core resources of CeBIT, the global top-ranking digital economy event have been introduced into the expo for the first time, which undoubtedly providing a brand new outlook for the “Internet Plus Expo”, enhancing the brand value and industrial influence and building a fantastic platform for global exhibitors to communicate and trade.

The expo, taking in all-new concepts and many international elements, has presented special highlights in both scale and products. The overseas display area, which covers more than 1,000 sqm, welcomed CEBIT selected exhibitors group, TÜV, German Chamber of Commerce and NRW Invest from Germany, Hanel, Datalogic, Fisher Logistics, AutoDesk from America and other international industry leaders. Here with unique “Industrie 4.0” display.

Smart Production Lines to Compete Skills

During this year’s expo, the debut of two smart production lines won great attention. Foshan Institute of Intelligent Equipment Technology and Foshan Huashu Robot Co., Ltd. presented Made in China 2025 Production Demonstration Line. Combining robotic arms and automated guided vehicles (AGV), the line realizes full automation of part assembly, screwing, testing and code scanning for meat grinders and truly showcases the intelligent manufacturing charm of Chinese equipment and systems.

Meanwhile, Foshan Robotation Academy, the only overseas authorized brand of Hannover Robotation Academy, opened to the public on the first day of the expo and unveiled the Sino-German Cooperation Industrie 4.0 Demo Line. Realizing the production, assembly, customization, testing, transport and warehousing of intelligent 3C products, the demo line reflects the application of Industrial Internet, product manufacturing by small batch, application of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Technology, as well as achieves digitalization and information technology in the tracking management of energy consumption and in the production process.

Industrial Pioneers to March towards Smart Future

In the new round of technical revolution and industrial revolution, intelligent manufacturing represents, with no doubt, a major direction in which the enterprises will go to pursue transformation and upgrade as well as improve quality and increase benefit. With the principal objective to promote an in-depth fusion of information technology and industrialization, the expo has attracted world-leading industrial pioneers, bringing high-tech products and frontier technologies in the intelligent manufacturing, “Internet Plus” and other areas.

The global industrial robot manufacturer Kuka made its presence in a luxurious booth covering almost 300 square meters on the site and displayed a total of 5 products and solutions, including friction welding equipment Genius and Industrie 4.0 solutions. The human-machine interaction robot with the most sensitive intelligent sensor has been widely used in medical surgery, workshop and other areas with high precision requirement. Guangdong Jaten Robot & Automation Co., Ltd., the first Chinese robot company that has exported products to Europe, is committed to research, development, production and sales of automated guided vehicles (AGVs). On the site, the company exhibited its bestsellers that had won the Red Dot Award of Germany, which is known as “Oscars” for industrial designs. Other key exhibitors including Baidu, Didi Chuxing, Fanuc, Kawasaki, Universal Robots, Shanghai Hefu, iSoftStone, China Unicom, Sino-German Industrial City Alliance, Shunde Chamber of Cross-border Electronic Commerce and Hikvision all displayed with intelligent manufacturing solutions.

High-tech Products to Bring Brand New Experience

The novel combination of “Internet Plus” and traditional enterprises has given birth to a surge of brand new models and applications which integrates various high-end science and technologies, gradually becoming a mighty engine for manufacturing transformation and upgrade. This year’s expo assembled a strong lineup of high-tech enterprises with the latest technologies, continuously providing new drives for economic transformation and development.

The famous consumer electronics leader Midea brought a broad array of smart home solutions, including smart air-conditioner, smart purifier, sweeping robot, smart door lock and smart refrigerator. Huawei presented the solutions for cloud management platform, smart outlet, digital transport, smart communication with power line carrier and other areas. Fisher Logistics Technology Group displayed a high-efficiency smart warehousing system integration solution, the S-AGV robot algorithm scheduling system developed independently and the global SAAS cloud warehouse system. Various unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) made the debut at the booth of DJI Drone and Shenzhen UAV Industry Association. All these exhibitors joined hands to build an optimal platform showcasing the latest results of “Internet Plus” at home and abroad.

Forums and Competitions to Deliver First-hand Industrial News

The annual “Internet Plus” event certainly didn’t lack a series of wonderful events that coincided with this grand festival. This year, Mr. Zhu Sendi, Chairman of the Intelligent Manufacturing Expert Consulting Committee under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the author of “Made in China 2025”, joined hands with the academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, experts of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, as well as a number of industrial and academic big shots, to make presence at the forum on boosting manufacturing transformation and upgrade with “Internet Plus”, jointly exploring the way of China to evolve from a manufacturing power to an intelligent manufacturing power.

The 7th China Intelligent Industry Summit also invited several academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, nearly 10 chairmen of corporate research institutes, more than 50 corporate leaders, more than 50 scientists from the scientific research institutes and over 100 experts, focusing on artificial intelligence technology, investment, innovation, application and other dimensions, to discuss the technical innovation and industrial evolution strategy and strive to find the key to artificial intelligence business and commercial model.

Except the wonderful seminars, several competitions were also held concurrently. The 2017 China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition aims to promote an organic fusion of research, development and application of key robot technologies. The 6th China Innovation Entrepreneurship Competition (Guangdong Foshan Area), the Foshan Rural Commercial Bank Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the First Shunde Educational Maker Festival and other competitions were all in full swing.
